-- Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh held a meeting with representatives from Vietnam’s embassy and other representative agencies, along with the Vietnamese community, in South Korea on Sunday within the framework of his official visit to the East Asian country.

-- Vietnam’s Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety, effective from January 1, 2025, mandates emissions testing for motorbikes.

-- Traffic police officers intercepted a car with a counterfeit government plate at a toll gate on the Van Don Expressway in Quang Ninh Province, northern Vietnam on Sunday. Subsequently, the car owner, employed by a central-level state agency, admitted to modifying his vehicle with a device that flips between a genuine license plate and a fake state license plate.

-- Drivers are urged to exercise caution while traveling on the Dai Ninh Pass due to an ongoing project to upgrade National Highway 28B across Binh Thuan and Lam Dong Provinces.

-- The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has proposed that the Ministry of Transport instruct the Airports Corporation of Vietnam to assess and present supplementary plans for expanding and refurbishing Vinh Airport’s runway in Nghe An Province by 600 meters, making it 3,000 meters long in total as per a previously-approved development blueprint.

-- The wave of businesses vacating retail premises persists in Ho Chi Minh City, leaving numerous prime areas overrun by motorbike taxi drivers or marred by graffiti and advertisements.

-- Vietnam welcomed more than 8.8 million international visitors in the first half of 2024, marking a 4.1-percent increase compared to the same period in 2019, before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
