The administration in Da Nang City, central Vietnam is preparing to construct a tunnel across the Han River to alleviate traffic pressure on the current downtown area traffic system.
The tunnel is envisaged to start at the intersection of Dong Da and Tran Phu Streets, cross through the Han River, and end at the intersection of Van Don and Tran Hung Dao Streets.
The project is included in the city’s planning for 2021-30 with a vision toward 2050 approved by the prime minister.
The department has collaborated with experts to study the project's scale and develop solutions, integrating it into the planning of related areas to ensure consistency.
Next, they will select design consulting units to prepare the pre-feasibility report for the project, with the selection process expected to conclude three months after the project's funding is allocated, planned for September this year.
The city plans to submit the pre-feasibility report to relevant agencies by December this year and aims to complete the feasibility report by August 2025.
