Hanoi is set to organize nearly 20 exciting tourism events during the upcoming holiday in celebration of Vietnam’s 79th National Day (September 2), the city’s tourism authority announced on Thursday.
The four-day public holiday will start from Saturday to Tuesday.
Among the key events, a show themed ‘Áo dài [Vietnam’s traditional long gown] connects tourism with Hanoi’s heritage’ is scheduled to take place on Sunday at the Thang Long – Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center, and on several streets in Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem, and Long Bien Districts.
The Vietnamese capital will offer 28,000 gifts, including bread, milk, and water, to visitors at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum on Monday.
Another program entitled ‘Vui Tet Doc Lap’ (Happy Independence Day), featuring the rich culture of the ethnic groups, will be held at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in suburban Hanoi’s Son Tay Town throughout the four-day holiday.
Between Sunday and Monday, visitors can enjoy free puppet show performances at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel.
The municipal Department of Tourism asked tourism businesses and service providers to improve the quality of their products and services to better serve tourists
