-- Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Philippine President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. in Vientiane, Laos on Tuesday on the occasion of their attendance at the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits and related summits.

-- Chinese Premier Li Qiang will pay an official visit to Vietnam from October 12 to 14 at the invitation of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, according to an announcement of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.

-- Many roads around the old Mien Dong (Eastern) bus station in Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City were jammed with traffic, leaving vehicles with no way out on Tuesday evening.

-- A downpour at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City caused numerous domestic flights to be delayed on Tuesday afternoon.

-- Authorities rescued 10 people trapped by deep flooding in the Do Le stream area of Duc Trong District in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong after several hours of heavy rain on Tuesday afternoon.

-- The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport announced traffic adjustments on several routes in District 1 from Monday until October 14 to accommodate the District 1 Night Run 2024.

-- Quang Tri Province in north-central Vietnam has submitted a document to the Ministry of Industry and Trade requesting the conversion of a coal-fired thermal power project to an LNG thermal power project, while also seeking to increase its capacity from 1,320 MW to 1,500 MW.

-- The total state budget contribution from Hoa Phat Group, a Vietnamese steel manufacturer, increased 65 percent in January-September compared to the same period last year, reaching VND10 trillion (US$402.5 million), nearly equal to the budget revenue of centrally-run Can Tho City.
