Excavation work on a house in Son Tay Town, Hanoi led to the collapse of a neighboring property on Monday evening, with no casualties reported.
Local police confirmed that the incident took place at around 6:30 pm at 60-62 Quang Trung Street in the namesake ward.
Foundation excavation was underway at a house at 60 Quang Trung Street, which triggered soil erosion and caused the adjoining house at 62 Quang Trung to tilt to one side and tumble down.
The affected property, owned by N.D.T., had two stories and an upper structure.
Fortunately, the occupants evacuated the house after noticing cracks on the walls during the construction.
Authorities have asked the affected family to relocate to a safer place.
The owners of both properties are negotiating the resolution of the incident.
