Ho Chi Minh City will hold fireworks displays at seven locations to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Reunification Day on April 30, marking half a century since the reunification of Vietnam in 1975.
At a press conference on Thursday, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports announced plans for the celebrations, which will feature fireworks at key sites across the city.
The designated locations include Saigon River Tunnel in Thu Duc City, Ben Duoc Martyrs Memorial Temple in Cu Chi District, the Nga Ba Giong Historical Site in Hoc Mon District, the Lang Le-Bau Co Relic Site in Binh Chanh District, a football field in Can Gio District, the National History - Culture Park in Thu Duc City, and Dam Sen Cultural Park in District 11.
Beyond these seven official venues, the Ho Chi Minh City High Command is encouraging districts and businesses to organize additional fireworks displays in their areas to broaden the celebrations.
The Department of Culture and Sports has also collaborated with local authorities to propose a range of exhibitions, cultural performances, sports events, and competitions, all aimed at honoring Vietnam’s revolutionary history while integrating modern artistic elements.
These activities are expected to engage both residents and visitors, making the 50th anniversary celebrations a meaningful and memorable event for the city.
