Province in Vietnam’s Central Highlands holds first off-road race

An off-road racing competition commenced at the Buon Don District People’s Committee square in Dak Lak Province, located in Vietnam’s Central Highlands region, on Sunday.
The SaiLun Cup 2023 is jointly organized by the Dak Lak Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and the People’s Committee of Buon Don District through August 17 as the first and biggest of its kind in the Central Highlands province.
Eighty teams, featuring domestic and international racers, are participating in the championship.
The opening ceremony on Sunday morning featured a gong performance, traditional art from the Central Highlands, and a parade by 10 off-road vehicles.

The competition includes a jungle event on Monday and Tuesday, an off-road rally and a twilight ride from Monday to Wednesday.
All events are scheduled to come to a close on Thursday and entail an awards and closing ceremony.
The SaiLun Cup 2023 is considered a preparatory step for selecting outstanding racers for regional and international tournaments, as well as incentives for the growth of national off-road racing.
This is also an opportunity to unlock the tourism potential of Buon Don District.
In parallel with the race, the Vietnam Camping Festival season 7 has attracted a large number of participants from many localities across the country to Buon Don, Dak Lak.
