Emirates, the world’s largest airline, has announced a new flight route connecting passengers from the Middle East, Europe, and the U.S. to Da Nang, a popular tourist city on the central coast of Vietnam, as part of its ongoing efforts to expand its presence in Asia.
On Monday, Emirates, based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), said on its website and to its Vietnamese partners that it will commence four weekly flights to Da Nang, with a layover in Thailand, on June 2.
With this new service, Da Nang will become the third Vietnamese destination served by Emirates, following Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
The airline will operate these flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, using a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with two cabin classes: 35 business-class seats and 368 economy-class seats.
Emirates has designed its flight schedule to facilitate seamless connections for passengers traveling from major European cities such as London, Paris, Amsterdam, Manchester, Milan, Rome, and key U.S. cities.
According to the airline’s published schedule, Flight EK370 departs Dubai at 9:00 am and arrives in Bangkok, Thailand at 6:25 pm. It then departs Bangkok at 8:10 pm and lands in Da Nang at 9:50 pm, all local times.
On the return journey, Flight EK371 leaves Da Nang at 11:30 pm, arriving in Bangkok at 1:10 am. It then departs Bangkok at 3:40 am and reaches Dubai at 6:50 am.
Passengers flying with Emirates can expect world-class service, including access to its award-winning in-flight entertainment system.
The carrier offers a ‘cinema in the sky’ experience with over 6,500 channels featuring movies, TV shows, music, podcasts, and games in more than 40 languages.
The launch of this new route is also expected to attract affluent travelers from the Middle East, further enhancing Da Nang’s appeal as a premium tourist destination.
Truong Thi Hong Hanh, director of Da Nang’s Department of Tourism, highlighted the significance of this new route, stating that Da Nang currently has 16 direct international connections, with an average of 50-60 flights per day.
“The addition of Emirates' direct flights to Da Nang presents a great opportunity to promote the city’s image to 150 countries and territories. It will also support the city's efforts to attract international visitors while preparing for increased business and trade activities,” Hanh stated.
Da Nang is approximately 605km (376 miles) south of Hanoi and 612km (380 miles) north of Ho Chi Minh City by air, according to the Distance Calculator website.
This coastal city is home to several well-known tourist attractions, including My Khe Beach, Son Tra Peninsula, Ba Na Hills, Hai Van Pass, Dragon Bridge, Linh Ung Pagoda, Asia Park – Sun World Da Nang Wonders, and Da Nang Night Market.
