As of 2016, male workers whose wives give birth will be entitled to at least five paid days off, according to a new regulation in the revised Law on Social Insurance. The information was issued by Tran Thi Thuy Nga, head of the Social Insurance Department under the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs at a conference on the new contents of the above amended law, which was approved by the National Assembly on November 20, 2014. Currently, no paid leave is granted to men whose wives give birth.
