From September 2022 to September 2023, Vietnamese sellers on Amazon successfully marketed and distributed 17 million products to customers globally, Eric Broussard, Amazon Vice-President Worldwide Global Selling & International Seller Services, said at a conference held in Hanoi on Tuesday.

Vietnamese firms’ exports via Amazon surged 50 percent in the period despite the economic downturn and challenges of the global market, according to Amazon’s data delivered at the fifth Amazon Cross-border E-commerce Summit in 2023.

“Vietnam is emerging as a production hub of Asia and the world,” Broussard noted.

The number of Vietnamese merchant partners on Amazon also soared 40 percent with thousands of Vietnamese enterprises seizing their global growth prospects with Amazon, proving their flexibility and tenacity amid economic challenges, the Amazon executive stated.

“Vietnam is an emerging part of the global e-commerce supply chain. We applaud Vietnam’s manufacturing strength, startup spirit, and fast digital transformation. That’s why we are expanding our presence in Vietnam and will continue boosting Vietnamese enterprises’ success,” said Broussard.

He added that it’s high time for Vietnam to speed up the integration into the global e-commerce market.

At the conference, the giant e-commerce platform introduced new and improved tools and programs to support Vietnamese firms in trading in the global market and develop cross-border e-commerce.

It opened the Amazon Day-1 Vietnam Training Center as well.

“These efforts contribute to accelerating online exports and boost business reforms and digital transformation in Vietnam,” according to Gijae Seong, head of Amazon Global Selling Vietnam.

“We continue our efforts to help Vietnamese selling partners innovate and upgrade their products to serve global customers, build global brands, and increase their global presence,” Seong added.

Amazon will boost the linkage of supply chains, including connecting sellers and producers across the country to expand the portfolio of Vietnamese products as well as encourage domestic firms to catch up with new trends and online export opportunities.

The cross-border e-commerce platform also pledged to help Vietnamese merchants to build global brands.
