The 2025 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) is set to make history with its longest-ever duration and largest lineup, featuring six nights of competition and 10 teams, according to the organizers.
Marking its 12th edition, the festival is scheduled to run from May 31 to July 12.
What began as a modest event without a stage in 2008 has grown into a premier competition that attracts top fireworks teams from around the globe, Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, vice-chairwoman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, shared at a press conference on Wednesday.
Thi highlighted that Da Nang welcomed 10.9 million visitors in 2024, a 32-percent increase compared to the previous year, with the 2024 DIFF playing a major role in achieving this milestone.
She added that the DIFF has become not just a summer tourism draw but a world-class event, firmly establishing Da Nang as a leading destination for events and festivals in Asia.

In 2008, during the first iteration of the fireworks festival, Da Nang welcomed over 1.2 million visitors.
That number has since surged to nearly 11 million and tourism revenue has soared to nearly VND38 trillion (US$1.5 million).
“The DIFF has given a strong boost to Da Nang's tourism, aiding the city’s impressive growth,” said Thi.
This year, the administration in Da Nang will direct relevant agencies to coordinate closely with Sun Group and other partners to organize the international fireworks festival.
The city will also continue investing in the DIFF in order to make Da Nang a leading destination for events and festivals in Asia.

Huynh Nam Thang, general director of Sun Group for the central region, emphasized that this year’s festival, themed 'Da Nang - The New Rising Era,' will bring creative performances which combine technology, art, music, and sports.
Sun Group suggested that Da Nang invest in infrastructure to build a fixed fireworks stage, where events can be held year-round, not just in the summer, to elevate the Da Nang fireworks brand and promote local tourism.
The 2024 DIFF, which included five competition nights, featured performances by seven international pyrotechnic teams from France, Italy, the U.S., Germany, Poland, China, Finland, and Da Nang.
