Big cities full of concerts this weekend

A number of concerts will take place at big cities including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Hai Phong this weekend.

In Hanoi, a show titled “Giao Huong Dong Que” (Pastoral Symphony) featuring Beethoven’s Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 and Symphony No.6 will be held at the Opera House on December 7. The concert will see performances of pianist Nguyen Viet Trung and will be led by Japanese conductor Honna Tetsuji. Tickets cost from VND200,000 (US$9.6) to VND500,000 (US$24).

On the same night, a concert to celebrate the upcoming Christmas will be organized for free at the Hanoi Goethe-Institut. Conductor Graham Sutcliffe will lead the orchestra to perform Xmas’ famous songs composed by renowned musician including J.S.Bach, G.P. Telemann and W.A. Mozart. The show later will move to Hai Phong’s Opera House the next day.

Meanwhile, the HCMC Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera Theater will showcase two international artists – cellist Filip Tomic and pianist Boris Kraljevic performing renowned works of Tchaikovsky on December 9 at the city’s Opera House. Outstanding Artist Tran Vuong Thach will be the concert’s conductor. Tickets cost VND150,000 for general public and VND60,000 for students.
