Short film fans in Vietnam should be ready to have their heart touched as a 15-minute picture about family by a renowned Vietnamese director premiered on Monday.

The film, titled ‘Niem Vui Cua Ba,’ meaning daddy’s delight, is the latest short flick project of Phan Gia Nhat Linh, director of ‘Sweet 20,’ a popular movie in the country.

The short film was introduced at BHD Cineplex Star Icon in the Bitexco tower on Hai Trieu Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City and it is due to be shown on YouTube and other online channels on Tuesday.

Quach Tinh and David Tran starred in the film.

The story, set in a modern hectic life of today’s world, conveys the message of care for those considered the most important and beloved to viewers through the family relationship between a company manager (David Tran), who is busy with daily work, and his father (Quach Tinh), who always wishes to have a family meal with him.

A line in the movie reads, “It is not geographical distance but inconsideration that separates people,” which is another message that the film crew wants to pass on to viewers.

Previously, Phan Gia Nhat Linh succeeded with his first feature – ‘Em La Ba Noi Cua Anh’ (Sweet 20) – and has earned more than VND110 billion (US$4.9 million) since its debut on December 11, 2015, making it the biggest grossing Vietnamese movie in the year.
