-- Vietnamese Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong chaired a meeting with the standing board of the Central Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption in Hanoi on Monday afternoon.

-- The Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense has officially assumed the role of Chair of ASEAN Defense Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM) and ADMM Plus for 2020 during a ceremony in Bangkok, Thailand on Monday.


-- A woman was killed while her husband severely injured after their motorcycle was hit from behind by a truck while they were stopping at a red light in the north-central province of Nghe An on Monday night.

-- Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Xo Viet, a police officer in the northern province of Thai Nguyen, had his rank demoted and was demobilized by the provincial Department of Police on Tuesday after he had been caught on CCTV slapping an attendant at a local rest stop last week.

-- Police in the northern province of Vinh Phuc are verifying a video in which a local martial art instructor repeatedly kicked and punched his students on their backs while they were stretching in his class.

-- Officers in the north-central province of Vinh Phuc have arrested a 55-year-old man who is the third suspect involved in a ring that illegally sent local residents abroad.

-- The construction of Linh Sam Pagoda, estimated to cost US$2 million, has been found being carried out without permission from authorities on the land plot where the Huu Temple, a national historical relic site, is located in the north-central province of Nghe An.

-- A river embankment worth VND12 billion ($517,000) in the south-central province of Binh Dinh has been seriously damaged less than two months after its completion on September 30.
