— Three Vietnamese brought home from France became the latest cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the patient tally to 1,410 with 1,266 recoveries and 35 virus-related deaths.

— The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport said on Friday afternoon that the municipal People’s Committee had given an in-principal agreement for piloting a public bicycle-sharing system, named Mobike, in some areas across the city in 12 months.

— The National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting forecast that a low pressure area, which was active in southeastern the Philippines on Friday, will enter the East Vietnam Sea, and is likely to strengthen into a tropical depression and then a storm in the next 48 to 72 hours.

— The administration of An Giang Province in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta has required relevant agencies to strengthen measures to prevent the Chikungunya outbreaks spreading in Cambodia from entering Vietnam after two positive cases were detected in the Vietnamese province.

— The current fertility rate in Ho Chi Minh City has been forecast to continue declining further in the coming time from the current low rate of 1.39 children per woman, according to the municipal Population and Family Planning Department.

— The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam issued a decision to slap three passengers from Ho Chi Minh City, northern Hung Yen Province and north-central Nghe An Province with flight bans from nine months to one year for disruptive behavior, phone stealing and smoking on an airplane.

— Security officers stationed at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City detected a passenger carried a pen gun with one loaded bullet in her carry-on luggage while the woman was undergoing security screening procedures for a flight from the southern metropolis to Pleiku City in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai on Thursday afternoon.

— Rescuers in south-central Binh Thuan Province on Friday afternoon found two bodies and recovered 11 other crew members on board a Panama-flagged cargo ship that had capsized in rough seas off Vietnam. Two other crew members of the ship are still missing.

— The Ministry of Public Security on Thursday broke a large-scale illegal ring smuggling clothing, fabrics, cosmetics, auto parts, motorbikes, and electronics in Mong Cai City of northern Quang Ninh Province, confiscating more than 500 metric tons of goods and 20 container trucks in the same city, Hanoi, and Hung Yen Province.
