Vietnam’s Ministry of Health recorded 114,144 more COVID-19 patients throughout the nation on Tuesday, together with 40,932 hospital discharges and 86 virus-linked deaths.
The newest cases, including 19 imported and 114,125 domestic transmissions, were reported in all 63 provinces and cities, the health ministry said in a daily update.
Ha Giang Province logged 17,826 of the latest local cases, including 15,382 detected on previous days; Hanoi 13,323; Quang Ninh Province 4,011; Bac Ninh Province 3,933; Nghe An Province 3,864; Lao Cai Province 3,398; Hung Yen Province 3,393; Nam Dinh Province 3,072; Thai Nguyen Province 2,788; Hai Phong City 2,309; Bac Giang Province 2,209; Ho Chi Minh City 2,022; Khanh Hoa Province 1,880; Da Nang 1,387; Dien Bien Province 1,228; Lam Dong Province 1,092; Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province 856; Binh Duong Province 846; Tay Ninh Province 507; Quang Nam Province 392; Thua Thien-Hue Province 319; and Can Tho City 154.
Vietnam had documented 122,471 locally-transmitted infections on Monday.
The country has found 3,550,249 community transmissions in all its 63 provinces and cities since the fourth virus wave broke out on April 27, 2021. Above 2.47 million of them have recovered from COVID-19.
Ho Chi Minh City leads the case count with 536,115 patients, followed by Binh Duong Province with 298,294, Hanoi with 285,475, Dong Nai Province with 101,399, Tay Ninh Province with 90,932, Bac Ninh Province 82,590, Hai Phong City 69,757, Ca Mau Province 63,525, Nghe An Province 59,251, Binh Phuoc Province 58,801, Da Nang with 58,026, Hai Duong Province 55,980, and Can Tho City with 45,199.
Vietnam registered only 1,570 locally-transmitted infections in total in the previous three waves.
Hospitals discharged 40,932 patients on Tuesday, elevating the national count to 2,479,883.
The toll has added up to 40,338, with 86 pathogen-related mortalities added today.
Vietnam has confirmed 3,557,629 patients in total since the COVID-19 pandemic first hit the country in early 2020.
Health workers have given more than 194.9 million vaccine doses, including 1,574,507 shots on Monday, since inoculation was rolled out nationwide on March 8, 2021.
Over 178 million doses have been administered to the adult demographic of the country’s 98 million people, including 70,744,790 first shots, 67,456,673 second doses, 13,979,774 additional primary jabs, and 24,564,359 boosters.
A total of 16,780,222 shots have been injected into children aged 12-17, including 8,629,081 first doses and 8,151,141 second jabs.
