COVID-19 Updates

-- Vietnam’s Ministry of Health reported 2,983 COVID-19 cases on Friday, raising the national tally to 11,379,554, with 10,056,190 recoveries and 43,103 deaths.

-- Doctors at National Lung Hospital in Hanoi said on Friday that they had successfully removed a 6.5-centimeter branch that had been puncturing a 22-year-old man's right lobe for 14 years.

-- The People’s Court in Binh Thuan Province, south-central Vietnam, handed down a 14-year sentence to a 49-year-old man for running a fuel smuggling ring with the total value of more than VND2 trillion (US$85.5 million).
