-- Vietnamese Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Liu Ning, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, in Hanoi on Friday during his visit to Vietnam, the Vietnam News Agency reported.

-- Eighteen students of an elementary school in Quang Nam Province, central Vietnam were hospitalized on Thursday after drinking milk tea and eating snacks provided by a student’s parents.

-- A female patient, born a deaf-mute, suffered serious burns after an ambulance carrying her from the northern mountainous province of Dien Bien to Hanoi for treatment for thyroid cancer burst into flames on Friday.

-- Police in Thai Binh Province, northern Vietnam on Friday arrested 10 youngsters, aged between 16 and 24, residing in Thai Binh’s neighboring city of Hai Phong, for allegedly robbing in some northern provinces.

-- The Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) on Friday informed that it had built a plan to revise up the electricity prices and submitted it to the government as it incurred a loss of over VND26.2 trillion (US$1.1 billion) in 2022.
