Vietnamese teacher faces prosecution for raping elementary schoolboys

Investigators of Dong Thap Province in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta region have proposed filing charges against a teacher for raping five students at an elementary school in Tam Nong District.
As a homeroom teacher at the elementary school in Hoa Binh Commune, Tam Nong District during the 2020-22 period, Le Van Hung, 49, a resident of Tan Cong Sinh Commune in the district allegedly raped the five students at the school several times.
The investigators on Friday proposed charging him with “raping an under-16-year-old person.”
His illegal act violated the dignity of children and seriously affected the psychological development of these students, as well as ruined the social security and the image of the commune, according to the Dong Thap Province police.
