Traffic police in Binh Phuoc Province, southern Vietnam have booked two students for doing a wheelie and posting a clip on Facebook to show off riding skills.
They are students at a middle school in Dong Xoai City of the province, traffic police said on Thursday.
V.H.H.A., 15, rode his family member’s scooter on Ho Xuan Huong Street with P.V.T.V., 15, on the back of the bike on Wednesday morning
After that, T.V. rode the bike to do a wheelie, which means raising the front wheel off the ground and balancing on the back wheel.
Besides, he had one of his schoolmates record his maneuver and posted it on his Facebook account.
The duo and their parents were summoned to the police station for some questions related to the wheelie.
The two students admitted their traffic violation and pledged not to repeat it.
They also got an administrative fine for a wheelie and underage riding. Besides, their bike has no rearview mirrors as required.
Vietnam has reported several cases of wheelies and motorcycle tuning done by young people aged between 14 and 18, said traffic police.
Police officers advise parents not to let their underage children ride a motorbike to avoid traffic disorder and reduce accidents.
