-- Many people donned masquerade attire and went to the streets downtown Ho Chi Minh City to immerse themselves in the Halloween ambiance on Tuesday evening.

-- Vietnam’s state-run lottery company Vietlott announced that the lottery draw held on Tuesday evening for the Power 6/55 prize resulted in two customers in Ho Chi Minh City winning Jackpot 1 and Jackpot 2, amounting to VND173 billion (US$7 million) and VND3.7 billion ($150,600), respectively.

-- Police in Hai Phong City, northern Vietnam arrested and initiated legal proceedings against two men for driving large-displacement motorcycles at an excessive speed, occasionally reaching up to 299 kilometers per hour on a road within Cat Hai District, the Traffic Police Department under the Ministry of Public and Security said on Tuesday.

-- Police of Quynh Luu District in Thai Binh Province, northern Vietnam on Tuesday said that they imposed a fine of VND90,000 ($3.66) on a cyclist who was found to be riding under the influence of alcohol.

-- The previously landslide-affected segment of the North-South railway passing through Ha Tinh Province in north-central Vietnam was successfully repaired and reopened to traffic around 6:00 pm on Tuesday after nearly two days of suspension.

-- A foreigner, who appeared to be unfamiliar with the Vietnamese language and currency, seized approximately VND3 million ($122) in cash and fled the scene while attempting to exchange U.S. dollars at a beer dealership in Long An Province, southern Vietnam, as reported by local police on Tuesday.

-- South Korea’s SK Group, which has formed partnerships with leading Vietnamese conglomerates Vingroup and Masan Group and invested approximately $2.5 billion in various fields such as distribution, consumer goods, real estate development, and healthcare in Vietnam since 2018, refuted rumors that it is considering a plan to withdraw from the Southeast Asian country, Money Today reported on Tuesday.

-- Police in Ho Chi Minh City are conducting an investigation based on a tax evasion report filed by the Ho Chi Minh City tax department against Thanh Buoi Co. Ltd., a passenger bus operator facing a business license revocation for up to three months due to various operational violations.

-- Hoi An City in the central province of Quang Nam and Da Lat city in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong on Tuesday were named in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) in terms of music, and crafts and folk art, respectively.
