-- The Ho Chi Minh City-Con Dao express boat service, launched just two months ago, will be temporarily suspended from July 29 due to operational inefficiency. 

-- The Ministry of Health proposes that couples should have the right to decide when to have children, the number of children, and the spacing between births, based on their age, health status, and income, rather than following government recommendations.

-- In 2024, Khanh Hoa Province in south-central Vietnam requires 9,012 social housing units and 24,926 commercial housing units, as outlined in a newly-issued housing development plan by the provincial People’s Committee.

-- The Department of Transport of Ho Chi Minh City reported deficiencies in the construction area of the Nguyen Van Linh-Nguyen Huu Tho underground tunnel project in District 7, including damage to the road surface, lack of reflection at the ends of the median strips, inadequate lighting due to tree obstruction, and unsanitary road conditions around the fenced-off area. These issues have resulted in compromised traffic order and safety.

-- Riverbank collapse occurred in Rach Goc Town, Ngoc Hien District, Ca Mau Province at midnight on Monday, damaging a total of nine houses with four of them collapsing completely, resulting in initial damage of about VND1 billion (US$39,342), a local leader reported on Tuesday.

-- The People’s Committee of Da Lat City in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong on Tuesday reported that reviews by the wards identified 60 projects citywide at risk of landslides, tilting, and subsidence, necessitating monitoring for proactive response and safety solutions.

-- The Ha Long City chapter of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in Quang Ninh Province, northern Vietnam collaborated with the Youth Union of the Academy of Finance and the Vietnam-Russia International Eye Hospital to provide eye examinations and free medications to 80 children living in challenging conditions in the remote Tan Dan highland commune on Tuesday.

-- Police in the Mekong Delta province of Vinh Long on Tuesday fined a 23-year-old woman over VND14 million ($550), suspended her driver’s license for three months, and impounded her motorcycle for seven days due to her performing stunts while riding on the road.

-- Experts warn that bluebottles are increasingly appearing on the beaches in Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province during their breeding season, posing potential health risks to beach-goers.

-- The Southeast Asia Clean Energy Facility II (SEACEF II) has invested $10 million in Nami Distributed Energy, which is headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, to promote innovative distributed energy solutions.
