A 100-meter-long footbridge across Nhieu Loc - Thi Nghe Canal has opened following its seven-month construction, connecting District 1 with Binh Thanh District in Ho Chi Minh City.
The footbridge is part of the Tao Dan - Tan Cang 220kV underground cable line project.
This is the first footbridge over the canal, standing between Thi Nghe Bridge and Dien Bien Phu Bridge.
The newly opened footbridge, which is over two meters wide and features steel railings and lighting systems, makes life easier for pedestrians and shortens walking time between the two districts.
Bui Duc Minh, a 53-year-old resident of Binh Thanh District, excitedly shared that he could now use the footbridge as a place to exercise and get some fresh air in the morning.
Nhieu Loc – Thi Nghe Canal runs nearly 10 kilometers through District 1, District 3, Binh Thanh District, Phu Nhuan District, and Tan Binh District before flowing into the Saigon River.
