A magnitude-3.3 earthquake struck Thanh Thuy District in Phu Tho Province, northern Vietnam at a depth of 15.6 kilometers at 4:18 pm on Saturday, causing shakes felt in Ba Vi District, Hanoi, according to the Institute of Geophysics.
Many residents in Thanh Thuy and Tam Nong Districts in the province, as well as those in Ba Vi District in Hanoi, felt the aftershock.
Ly, a resident of Tam Nong District, recounted that she was sitting in her living room when a tremor happened, causing shaking for nearly three seconds.
She initially thought that the vibration was produced by vehicles running on the street.
However, when she surfed the Internet, she found several videos and images about the earthquake.

“I felt the shuddering for two or three seconds, while a table near me and my smartphone on it rocked,” said Thuong, a resident of Ba Vi District, Hanoi.
The Vietnam Earthquake Information and Tsunami Warning Center under the institute is keeping a close watch on the tremor.
