Three Vietnamese rappers De Choat, Lang LD and Blacka will travel to the United Sates in February next year to join the Super Bowl Pregame Tailgate held on the sidelines of American football championship game Super Bowl 2024.

The event is aimed at warming players and audiences up before the game starts.

The tailgate party is scheduled to take place on February 9, 2024, two days before the Super Bowl Halftime Show.  

The upcoming American football championship game of the National Football League will be hosted in Las Vegas.

The three rappers’ presence at the tailgate party is meant to cheer up the Vietnamese community in the United States and help immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the American sporting event as the event and Vietnam’s Lunar New Year holiday will take place concurrently.

Rapper Lang LD, who was made famous by TV show Rap Viet, a rap competition, said that he was honored to join the United States’ largest sporting event.

“The participation [in the show] is not only my pleasure, but also generates motivation for young rappers to go further,” he said.

Lang LD will bring some features of the countryside to the tailgate party via his songs.

“It will surely be great when I sing in Vietnamese at such a large international event,” he said.

The three rappers started to come up with ideals for their performances at the American event.

Blacka said that he will perform some songs in his new album to please audiences.

Singer Tuan Hung was the first Vietnamese artist to announce his participation in Super Bowl 2024 as a pre-show performer.

He confirmed his invitation to the Super Bowl Pregame Warm-Up on his Facebook account in mid-September.

The Vegas Super Bowl Pregame Warm-Up, slated for February 9, 2024, is expected to attract 10,000 event-goers.

Super Bowl is not only a sporting event, but also the United States’ traditional cultural activity.

All Super Bowl-related events have high viewership. Its popularity is reflected through ad prices.

In 2019, many brands had to spend US$5.25 million to be advertised at Super Bowl for 30 seconds.
