Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Hanoi, and Phu Quoc have been named as the top destinations in Asia favored by international tourists for the forthcoming Lunar New Year holiday, or Tet, due in February, according to data from digital travel platform Agoda.

The data released on Tuesday indicate that Vietnam is listed among the five leading destinations for foreign travelers who are searching for tourist attractions in the Asia-Pacific region during the holiday, alongside Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

South Korean tourists top the list of international visitors planning to travel to Vietnam during Tet, surpassing traditional tourist source markets like China, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Japan.

While foreign holidaymakers favor Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Hanoi, and Phu Quoc, domestic visitors prefer Da Lat, a popular tourist site in the Central Highlands region, according to the data.

Many Vietnamese travelers have booked tours on Agoda to experience their holiday in Da Lat.

Meanwhile, several other Vietnamese travelers are planning to tour Bangkok in Thailand, Singapore, Seoul in South Korea, and Tokyo in Japan to ring in the Lunar New Year, Agoda said in its recent report.
