Following the success of a show featuring 2,024 drones on February 9 for Lunar New Year’s Eve, Hanoi will light up its sky with another drone display to excite locals and tourists this weekend.
Hundreds of drones will swarm over West Lake to create a light show titled ‘The Color of West Lake,’ which is part of the two-day ‘Get on Hanoi 2024’ program to captivate tourists.
The display is meant to introduce Hanoi as a safe, friendly, high-quality, and fascinating destination for both local and international travelers.
The drone show is also part of a series of events to mark the 70th anniversary of the capital city's Liberation Day (October 10, 1954).
During the nighttime program, the Hanoi administration will announce the recognition of Nhat Tan Tourist Area in Tay Ho District as a city-level tourist site.
The ‘Get on Hanoi 2024’ program will act as an inaugural event of 50 cultural and tourism activities and festivals in the city this year.
Among them are Hanoi Tourism Fest 2024, Hanoi Tourism Gift Fest 2024, Hanoi Autumn Fest, Cuisine and Craft Village Tourism Fest, and Hanoi Ao Dai Fest 2024.
These events will make Hanoi a city of year-round festivals, contributing to beguiling more tourists and promoting its cultural values.
The program takes place at Trinh Cong Son Pedestrian Street on Saturday and Sunday.
Hanoi aims to welcome 27 million tourists, including 5.5 million international visitors, in 2024 while looking to book VND103.7 trillion (US$4.2 billion) in tourism revenue this year, a year-on-year increase of 11.1 percent.
