Vietnam’s Quang Nam to host int’l kite fest late this month

Quang Nam Province in central Vietnam will organize an international kite festival that is set to feature 100 types of kites from 10 countries and territories between July 25 and 28, the provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism announced on Thursday.

Director of the department Nguyen Thanh Hong said the provincial authorities would join forces with Hoiana Resort & Golf to organize the fest in a bid to bring new experiences to tourists.

The event will attract kite flying teams from mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Australia, among others.

A highlight of the festival will be flying LED kites every evening during the festival time.

A concert with the participation of many well-known artists will take place on July 27.

Visitors will have opportunities to join kite making classes, explore cuisine, as well as enjoy legerdemain and fire dance performances.

It will offer promotion programs to tourists during the event time.
