Japan awards scholarships to Hue students

The Japanese Business Association in Vietnam and the Japanese Economic Association on December 3 awarded 24 scholarships, worth US$200 each, to outstanding students of Hue University in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue.

This is a meaningful activity to strengthen cooperation and friendship between these associations and the Hue University and between Japan and Vietnam as well.

Hue city has established cooperative relations with many cities of Japan, especially Fukuroi city in Shizuoka prefecture in supporting local educational institutions teaching Japanese language.

The two cities’ relationship began more than 100 years ago when Phan Boi Chau started Dong Du (Visit the East) movement, sending outstanding Vietnamese students to Japan for study.
