-- Huynh Chi Dung, director of the Children Center in the southernmost province of Ca Mau, on Saturday announced the termination of a roller coaster ride pending quality inspection. Around 8:00 pm on Friday, a car of the roller coaster ride derailed and was tossed to the ground, injuring a 10-year-old kid of Australian nationality and a 14-year-old Ca Mau native.

-- The Ministry of National Defense has requested the local governments of eight provinces, Lang Son, Quang Ninh in the north, Nghe An, Quang Nam, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen and Kon Tum in the central region, and Binh Phuoc in the south, as well as competent ministries and agencies to tighten their inspection and surveillance over forest growing projects which are operated by foreign-owned enterprises in Vietnam.

-- Representatives of electrical appliance shops in Ho Chi Minh City have reported a year-on-year rise of 15-30 percent in the sale of fans and air-conditioners in the first half of March 2015. The hot climate in the past few days has driven many residents to purchase cooling electrical appliances.

-- The first episode of the Vietnamese version of Asia’s Got Talent – the world's first-ever pan-regional edition of the global hit “Got Talent” format – is scheduled to air at 7:55 pm on Sunday on Vietnam Television’s VTV6. The episode will feature the performance of a Vietnamese trial biker. Nine other Vietnamese contestants, who were winners, runners-up, and finalists of Vietnam’s Got Talent editions, will also compete on the Asian show. The winner of the 2015 Asia’s Got Talent, which sees the participation of talents from 15 Asian countries, will be presented with an award of US$100,000.
