-- Police in Ngu Hanh Son District in the central city of Da Nang have busted a major ring that supplies an illusion-causing stimulant called “American weed.” 

-- A Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper source revealed on Saturday that police in the central province of Quang Nam had worked with their counterparts from the Ministry of Public Security to swoop on a cartel illegally trading in drugs and weaponry at a house in Hoi An City on Friday night.

-- On Saturday night, investigative officers were still present at the site of a huge blast which occurred at a residential area in Ha Dong District, Hanoi, claiming four lives, injuring six others and wreaking havoc on 36 apartments.


-- An official of the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development's Directorate of Fisheries has said the ongoing drought and salinization crisis that is hitting the Mekong Delta has taken a devastating toll on the local aquaculture, with scarcity of shrimp for export being forecast.

-- The management of a project sponsored by the European Union to promote sustainable, environmentally responsible tourism have said that they are working on a website to better advertise tourist attractions and services in Da Nang City, Thua Thien-Hue and Quang Nam in the central region.     

-- Arabica coffee growers in Da Lat, a resort town in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong, showed off their skills at a coffee contest on Friday, which was judged by foreign experts.


-- The 2016 Earth Hour, a global environmental movement launched by the World Wide Fund for Nature to promote energy saving, took place in several Vietnamese cities on Saturday night, with its signature one-hour lights-off event, at 8:30 pm, drawing thousands of youths.


-- From December to late March every year in recent times, hundreds of South Korean high school students have flocked to golf courses in localities spanning from Dong Nai Province bordering Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang City to shun winter and further practice the sport.
