-- Vietnamese Deputy Minister of National Defense Nguyen Chi Vinh and Permanent Secretary for Defense of Singapore Chan Yeng Kit co-chaired the 10th Vietnam-Singapore defense policy dialogue in Ho Chi Minh City on Monday.

-- Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan received Senior Vice President of the US-ASEAN Business Council (UABC) Michael Michalak on Monday to discuss ways to bolster cooperation in improving local human resources quality.


-- The number of traffic accident hotspots in Ho Chi Minh City has risen to 19 as of June, three more locations than last year, according to the municipal Department of Transport.

-- Competent authorities in the north-central province of Nghe An have been able to put out the fire that broke out at two forests in Vinh City and Nam Dan District on Monday evening.

-- The central city of Da Nang is running out of fresh water after being hit by continuous heatwaves over the past weeks, the Da Nang Water Company stated, calling on local residents to save water during their daily activities.


-- Vietnamese Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung and Nasser Thani Al, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation in the United Arab Emirates, signed a memorandum of understanding to boost bilateral cooperation in labor and human resources on Monday, on the sidelines of the 108th International Labor Conference in Geneva, Switzerland.

-- Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc is scheduled to chair a conference in Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday to review the two-year implementation of Resolution No.120, which highlights measures to cope with climate change in the Mekong Delta.
