A female elementary school teacher in Ho Chi Minh City has been caught on a hidden camera physically abusing second-grade students inside her classroom.
The violence happened in a second-grade class of Phan Chu Trinh Elementary School in Tan Phu District in late August.
According to H.T.B., a parent of a student in the class, their school year started on August 22.
Some students began telling their families that they were beaten by their homeroom teacher, B. continued.
The young children added that the teacher also forced them not to tell anyone about the incident.
In order to seek the truth, one of the parents decided to install a hidden camera inside the classroom.
Footage recorded from August 27 to 30 showed that some students were beaten by the teacher.
According to the two-and-a-half-minute-long video that the parent sent to local media, the teacher dressed in a purple ‘ao dai’ was yelling at and physically abusing at least five students by hitting their heads and shoulders and pinching their ears.
“We were in complete shock after seeing the video clip,” a parent stated.

The evidence was submitted to the school board on September 9. The board members have apologized and promised to properly solve the problem.
They have replaced the homeroom teacher of the class but have yet to announce any disciplinary action regarding the abuse.
Do Thi Suu, principal of Phan Chu Trinh Elementary School, confirmed that the teacher caught on camera was Nguyen H.
“District inspectors are dealing with the case. We will decide a suitable penalty upon H. when the investigation concludes,” Suu continued.
H. is still assigned some tasks at the school at the moment but has been suspended from teaching, the principal added.
