Competent forces were deployed to flooded spots across Ben Cat City in Binh Duong Province, southern Vietnam to rescue motorcycles and cars being swept away by flooding amid a heavy downpour late on Monday afternoon.
The floodwater levels rose rapidly, inundating several major roads and leaving many cars stranded.
A host of motorcycles ran into engine breakdowns while attempting to pass through a waterlogged section of National Highway 13 in Thoi Hoa Ward.
On the flooded NA3 and NB16 Streets, cars were half-submerged in water, with one vehicle swept into a nearby canal.
Meanwhile, dozens of cooking gas cylinders were carried down the road by the floodwaters, raising concerns among residents.
