-- The law-making National Assembly on Saturday afternoon approved a ban on the production, trade, import, storage, transportation, and use of e-cigarettes, heated tobacco products, and addictive or harmful substances affecting human health starting in 2025, with the aim of protecting public health and ensuring social order and safety.

-- The administration of Hanoi on Saturday began seeking public feedback on a plan to issue transport permits for individuals using motorbikes, scooters, or rudimentary vehicles to carry passengers or goods.

-- Weather conditions across Vietnam’s three regions show little change during Sunday, with cold air remaining the dominant pattern nationwide, according to the national weather agency.

-- A project to build a 47,954-square-meter branch of Dai Viet - Saigon College in Phu Quoc City, an island off the coast of Kien Giang Province in southern Vietnam, has lain dormant for nine years, leaving local residents within the project area struggling with numerous challenges.

-- A suspected drowsy trailer truck driver caused a chain collision involving seven cars, including two Mercedes-Benz and one Lexus, at an intersection in suburban Hanoi at noon on Saturday. While many of the vehicles sustained significant damage, no casualties were reported.

-- The Department of Health in Dong Nai Province, southern Vietnam has urged healthcare facility leaders to enhance communication efforts to improve awareness among patients, families, and medical staff about measles prevention and control amid an escalating outbreak. As of November 29, the province has reported 3,073 measles cases, including two fatalities involving children aged 8 and 3.

-- The development of Mang Den Airport in the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum requires an estimated investment of VND4.9 trillion (US$193 million), with most of the funding expected to come from investors through a public-private partnership, said a local transport official on Saturday.

-- Reuters cited authorities as saying that the death toll from the worst floods in decades in southern Thailand and northern Malaysia climbed to at least 12 on Saturday, as tens of thousands of people were evacuated due to rising water levels in the past three days.

-- Negotiators aiming for an international treaty to curb plastic pollution are set for fierce debate on the last day of scheduled talks, as over 100 countries supportive of a pact that would cap plastic production face off against a handful of oil-producing countries who want it focused just on waste, Reuters reported.
