The inaugural Vietnam Golf Festival opened in Nha Trang, a beach destination in Khanh Hoa Province, south-central Vietnam, on Wednesday evening, drawing hundreds of athletes and golf enthusiasts from across the country.
Sai Gon Giai Phong (Liberated Saigon) newspaper, in collaboration with the provincial Department of Culture and Sports and Star Global Entertainment Co. Ltd., organizes the festival with the aim of honoring Vietnam’s century-long history of golf and promoting local tourism.
Two hundred and eighty golfers are expected to participate in the three-day event at the Vinpearl Nha Trang Golf Course and KN Golf Links Cam Ranh.
Bui Thi Hong Suong, deputy editor-in-chief of Sai Gon Giai Phong, said that Nha Trang is a prominent tourist destination, and that golf tourism plays a key role in attracting international visitors.
Through the festival, Sai Gon Giai Phong is looking to boost the golf market in Vietnam and promote its development as a key feature of the country’s tourism offerings in the years to come, Suong said.
The festival will feature a vibrant lineup of activities beyond the golf tournament.
Festival-goers could explore the ‘Vietnam Golf Path’ exhibition and participate in challenges such as trial sessions and 3D golf practice guided by professional trainers.
