Asia’s leading professional mixed martial arts tournament, Angel’s Fighting Championship 37 (AFC 37), will return to Vietnam next week.
The AFC 37 Ho Tram Showdown MMA Tournament, the first event of the 2025 Angel’s Fighting Championship (AFC) season, will be held at The Grand Ho Tram Strip resort in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, southern Vietnam, on March 22.
Organized by martial arts training company Cocky Buffalo in coordination with AFC, the Department of Culture and Sports of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, and The Grand Ho Tram Strip, the event will be broadcast exclusively on VTVcab.
The tournament will feature seven matches with 14 fighters from countries including China, South Korea, Brazil, and Russia, with two representatives from Vietnam.
In the 65.8kg weight class, Vietnam’s Quang Van Minh will face South Korea’s Park Yeong Jun.
Minh, known for his Muay Thai skills, impressed with a knockout of German fighter Mirko Maurice Horn at LION Championship 13 in May 2024.
Park, a 23-year-old boxer standing 1.80m tall, specializes in standing punches.
Vietnam’s Le Van Tuan will compete in the 56.7kg weight class against China’s Mao Xiao Fu, who has a strong record of four wins in five bouts.
Tuan is known for his dramatic performance at LION Championship, including a near-knockout of undefeated fighter Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat.
In the main event, South Korea’s Jung Da Un will battle Russia’s Ivan Parshikov in the 61.3kg weight class.
Parshikov, a jiu-jitsu master, has dominated Asia’s top MMA stage, ONE Championship.
The only women’s match will feature South Korea’s Kim So Yul against China’s Yang Qing Qing in the 56kg weight class.
Additional matches will include Brazil’s Italo Freitas versus China’s Wang Bingyin, China’s Zhu Zahui versus Taiwan’s Yang Jihua, and South Korea’s Cho Kyung Yui versus China’s Wang Haoxiang.
The event will also feature performances by singer Lee Ye Eun and South Korean band DJ DOC, adding entertainment to the martial arts action.
