Authorities in Ho Chi Minh City are weighing sanctions against the organizer of a fashion show that featured models donning scanty clothes.
Nguyen My Hanh, deputy chief of the Office of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, told a regular press briefing on Thursday afternoon that the department would work with the municipal Department of Information and Communications to handle the show named 'New Tradition' produced by designer Tuong Danh.

During the show, which was held in Thu Duc City under Ho Chi Minh City more than two weeks ago, models wore scanty ao yem, a traditional Vietnamese bodice, and provocative ao dai, a traditional Vietnamese costume.
The show organizer will face sanctions on the violations of administrative procedures and offensive images that spread on the Internet, said Hanh.
There was an angry backlash against the fashion show after the images and clips featuring models wearing such provocative clothes dispersed on social media, prompting authorities in the city to launch a probe into the show to adopt suitable sanctions against it.
