-- Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong met with Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Victorovich Volodin in Hanoi on Monday. The Russian State Duma leader arrived in Vietnam on Sunday for his two-day visit to the Southeast Asian country.

-- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will lead a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam to attend the Association of Southeast Asian Nations-Gulf Cooperation Council Summit and visit Saudi Arabia from Wednesday to Friday this week, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed on Monday.

-- Vietnamese Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son and his Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar agreed to strengthen the two countries’ cooperation in science and information technology as well as negotiate and sign the Vietnam-India Digital Partnership Agreement while they co-chaired the 18th Meeting of India-Vietnam Joint Commission on Economic, Trade, Scientific, and Technological Cooperation in Hanoi on Monday.

-- The last bear kept in captivity in northern Hai Duong Province for 20 years was rescued and relocated to the Vietnam Bear Sanctuary in Thua Thien-Hue Province, central Vietnam on Monday.

-- A vehicle of a healthcare service company in Binh Duong Province, neighboring Ho Chi Minh City, were caught red-handed transporting its papers and medical waste to the bank of a Saigon River section in Binh Duong for burning on Thursday last week, a source told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper on Monday.

-- Ho Chi Minh City recorded six more cases of monkeypox, an illness caused by the monkeypox virus, over the past week, increasing the total monkeypox cases in the city since early this year to 19, the municipal Department of Health reported on Monday.
