Authorities in Khanh Hoa Province, Vietnam are preparing for next month’s Nha Trang Beach Tourism Festival 2022.

The festival is part of the south-central province’s efforts to attract tourists to the famous coastal city of Nha Trang under Vietnam’s 2022 National Tourism Year campaign after two years of stalled tourism due to COVD-19.

The event is aimed at promoting Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa as a “safe, high-quality, attractive, and friendly” destination, according to Cung Quynh Anh, deputy director of the Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism. 

The fest is meant to create opportunities for localities and businesses to introduce their tourism products to tourists and residents alike.

Aside from the event’s opening and closing ceremonies, the Nha Trang Beach Tourism Festival 2022 will feature a wide range of activities, including about 200 booths related to Khanh Hoa tourism, a photo exhibition showcasing the province’s cultural heritage, introductions of cooperative tourism products developed by between Khanh Hoa and other provinces, and seminars discussing tourism development.

The festival will also include a singing contest for tourism workers, fashion shows, folk games, 20 booths serving local and international cuisine, a beer fest, a coffee fest, and a cooking competition for professional chefs.

Alongside the festival, the local tourism industry plans to run activities aimed at raising public awareness of environmental protection, including a trash pick-up event on Mun Island in Nha Trang Bay.

According to the Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, most of the activities will be held in open spaces for locals and tourists.

The event, slated for June 16 to 19, expects to attract more than 100,000 visitors.
