Locals and tourists can enjoy free admission to the new Vietnam Military History Museum in Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi starting from Friday.
The museum will be offering free admission from now until the end of 2024, according to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thi Lan Huong, head of the museum's public relations and education department.
The Vietnam Military History Museum is home to over 150,000 exhibits, including four national treasures, namely two MIG-21 aircraft, a T54B tank, and a map.
Other exhibits include aircraft of various types, tanks, weaponry, and artifacts.

Originally, located on Dien Bien Phu Street in Hanoi’s Ba Dinh District, the museum was recently relocated to a 38.6-hectare property straddling Nam Tu Liem District’s Tay Mo and Dai Mo Wards.
Across the property's two squares, which span over 20,000 square meters each, visitors can check out historic aircraft, tanks, weaponry, and war relics.
The museum’s exhibition areas focus on six themes related to the nation’s establishment, protection, and development.
The museum is equipped with modern technologies such as 3D mapping and 3D films.
Automated narration software detailing Vietnam’s heroic wartime victories is also available to guests.

The museum’s main building features four stories and covers an area of 23,198 square meters. It has both indoor and outdoor exhibition areas, a spacious yard, a parking lot, and airy green spaces.
The opening of the new museum marked the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army, the 35th anniversary of the All-People's National Defense Day, and the 80th anniversary of the General Department of Political Affairs’ foundation day.
